Originally hailing from Green Valley, California, just over the hill from Napa, Doug and DeeDee Rayfield now call the Water Oak Community their home. After spending four days traveling around the Greater Austin Area, they decided on a home in Cedar Park. But before they made their final decision, their Realtor convinced them to look at “just one more place.” That’s when they were introduced to the Water Oak Community.
Immediately, they fell in love with the neighborhood and with Georgetown. If you ask them what their favorite thing is about Water Oak, they will tell you “Our new friends and neighbors are by far the best thing. In addition, the topography since we came from a beautiful area of California and were used to hills and mountains. We also like the close proximity to great restaurants and retail stores…with more on the way! Water Oak is somewhere comfortably between country and city living. To the West you will find mostly country living, and to the East more city living with stores and restaurants.” The Rayfield’s never get tired of walking around historic Georgetown Square with all the small shops and farm to table restaurants. Their favorite is Blue Corn Harvest.
Doug and DeeDee, and their beloved miniature Australian Shepard, have developed lifelong friendships with their neighbors in the Water Oak Community. They feel like Water Oak is a great place to live and tell us that “It is a very friendly community where most of us know and look out for each other”.
